The Prospectus for Vocational Courses 2012 of BBOSE has been launched on 3rd of July 2012 by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Nitish Kumar.

Education specialist of Commonwealth of Learning, Canada, Francis Ferera had arrived in Gaya on Monday to review the working of the institutions in which girls from the minority section and Scheduled Castes are imparted free vocational training with CEO of BBOSE Sri Dinesh Singh Bist.

In order to develop a platform for all stakeholders and promote skill development activities in the state, BBOSE has organized its 3rd Workshop on 3rd of July 2012 at Bihar Industrial Association (BIA) Conference Hall, Industrial House, Patna. During the Workshop a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed on the same day between all stakeholders and BBOSE.

The Second Workshop on “Vocational Education and Skill Development Initiatives in Bihar” is to be held on 24th May at 10:30 AM at Udyamita Vikas Auditorium at Bihar Chamber of Commerce, Judges Court Road, Antaghat, Patna. The objective of the workshop is to promote the vocational skill development programmes of BBOSE. The participants will include officials from different departments of Govt of Bihar, corporate sectors agencies, vocati onal institutions. The workshop will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of State for Department of Education, Sh PK Sahi.

On 23rd may 2012, the Hon’ble Chief Minister Sh Nitish Kumar inaugurated a study centre for Bihar board of Open Schooling and Examination (BBOSE) at the Open Jail in buxar district. This unique study center is aimed at providing educational opportunities for inmates of the Open Jail – the open jail is the first such jail set up by the Govt of Bihar. Under the BBOSE programmes the jail inmates and their children will be able to avail the vocational programmes of BBOSE and this will provide them with a chance to develop their skills. The courses to be offered will include Academic , Vocational(Fruits and Vegetables, Mushroom Production, bee keeping tailoring and more. BBOSE will provide study materials that have been specially developed in open learning format for these learners; they will be certified by BBOSE. This study centre in Buxar Open Jail is the first in the state and is a part of the BBOSE commitment to serve the disadvantaged persons.
